It's been more than three whole years since Assassin's Creed Valhalla got its "final" update, all the way back in February 2023.
But somehow, and for some reason, Ubisoft has actually gone back to its best-selling instalment, and is about to deliver Valhalla's most requested patch.
New Game+ will be coming to the open world RPG next week, on the 5th November.
New Game+ was in massive demand back when the title was still super popular, but to the frustration of many, the development team decided not to implement it, despite Valhalla receiving over two years of major support.
The new mode will feature "dedicated NG+ scaling", suggesting that everything — levels, gear, enemies — will scale up to an appropriate point when you start a New Game+ run.
For those who might not know what New Game+ even is, it lets you restart the game's story without losing your character progression. You get to keep all of your skills and equipment from a finished save.
As per the official press release, this Valhalla patch also includes:
- An optional progression mode where Gear, Runes, and Masteries all contribute to Eivor's overall Power
- New runes, achievements, a stash system, and new rewards, including a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe's look in Assassin's Creed Shadows
- Mithril, a new resource to upgrade Divine Gear and strengthen runes
- Divine Gear quality for all items
The thing is, playing through Valhalla just once can easily take you upwards of 100 hours, especially when you factor its multiple expansions into the equation. A New Game+ run is going to take some serious commitment.
