What the report says

Pearl Abyss knows no rest. Following last week's release of Crimson Desert Enhanced, which addressed the original game's subpar story and characters by making the entire experience more cohesive and making Kliff a charismatic main character, the Korean developer further refined the Enhanced release with a patch that addressed lip-syncing issues. And today, Pearl Abyss launched another update that addresses another major complaint about the game: noisy visuals under certain conditions."Improved an issue where visual noise was particularly noticeable in rainy weather and around puddles," read the official 2.01.00 patch notes released together with the new update.

Needless to say, this improvement is significant, as the visual noise was very distracting whenever there was water on screen. As I haven't had time to test this new patch yet, I cannot say whether it also improves other scenarios where the visuals get really noisy, such as when using the lantern in certain interiors, but hopefully it does.Besides addressing this critical visual issue, the new Crimson Desert patch also fixes some performance issues caused by placing outdoor furniture, and a Mac-specific issue that caused indoor areas to appear too dark on M5 devices due to a lighting rendering error.

The patch also packs some other quest fixes and improvements, such as improvements for the minimum font size settings menu, a new Gold Bar Investment Mission, improved photo mode with a camera tilt option, and a 10x multiplier for Camp donations which increase Camp Funds from donating Silver. Check out the full patch notes for all the details.Unlike previous updates, the Crimson Desert 2.01.00 patch is light on new content, but that is to be expected, as Pearl Abyss is going all-in in terms of new mechanics with the Charting the Unknown expansion.
