Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware have released a new Elden Ring patch today, September 8, on all platforms, and this includes bug fixes.

After last week’s patch that brought in the Tarnished Edition content and a ton of gameplay fixes and adjustments, today’s Elden Ring update 1.25 download is a lot smaller in size and scope. On consoles, it clocks in at a paltry 250 MB, which is understandable for these small hotfixes.

Elden Ring’s September 8 Update Is a Minor One

Per Bandai Namco, today’s patch “This update fixes an issue in multiplayer where, under specific conditions, DLC-specific items could be obtained when not normally eligible. No additional content is included.”

Thankfully, this patch does NOT nerf Muleta, so players at least have that. While there are balance changes or quality-of-life features the devs can implement, it priortized the Tarnished Edition DLC first, which isn’t really that surprising. We all know how revenue is king, so this prevents any item sharing.

For reference, the Tarnished Edition contents include the following:

Tarnished Pack Additional Content

The following elements will be added upon purchase of the “Tarnished Pack” DLC.

Note: This content is included by default in ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2.

  • Added Idus Knight and Heavy Knight as new starting classes, selectable during character creation.
    • Note: The equipment of each new starting class can also be obtained by purchasing it from merchants in the Lands Between or by finding it in the world.
  • Added weapons that can be purchased from merchants or found in the Lands Between.
  • Added three types of Spectral Steed Attire that change the appearance of Torrent:
    • Tree Sentinel Spectral Steed Attire: Found in Stormveil Castle.
    • Silver of Caria Spectral Steed Attire: Found in Liurnia of the Lakes.
    • Funereal Night Spectral Steed Attire: Found in Altus Plateau.
    • Note: After obtaining any Spectral Steed Attire, the option to change the spectral steed’s appearance will be added to the Site of Grace menu.
  • Added an NPC invasion event in Caelid.
  • Added an NPC invasion event in Leyndell, Royal Capital.
    • Note: This event will not occur after the area has changed to Leyndell, Ashen Capital.

If there are any other gameplay changes, we’ll update the article, but from what we know, that’s it so far.
