F1 25: 2026 Season Edition Update Adds F2 Drivers, New Liveries and More

EA Sports recently rolled out a new F1 25: 2026 Season Edition content update and patch 1.25 as the series celebrates the first official Madrid Grand Prix, bringing updated F2 teams and drivers, refreshed Formula 1 liveries and several limited-time designs. There’s a free weekend coming up for Xbox and PC players as well, along with discounts for anyone interested in picking up the game or Season Pack.

The September Sports Update refreshes eight teams to better match what fans are seeing on track, including Ferrari’s distinctive “Macarena” rear wing. Several liveries have been adjusted to reflect sponsor and design changes made throughout the season, with those updates applied to the appropriate 2026 cars once the latest update is installed.

A collection of special liveries will begin showing up through the in-game mail system tomorrow, September 9, including Racing Bulls’ Suzuka design, Audi’s Monaco look and Cadillac’s Silverstone livery. More designs are scheduled to arrive on September 11 and September 16, while the limited-time liveries will remain available to claim through October 14. Highlights

• Addition of the 2026 F2 Championship in game, including all cars and drivers.

• To better reflect the 2026 regulations, Boost Mode with limited deploy power is now available in wet conditions.
• To better reflect the regulations, Straight Mode and DRS will now only remain active when the driver’s throttle input is above 90%.
• An “Overtake Enabled” Race Control message will now show at the correct times during race using 2026 F1 cars. This has also been added to the UDP output.

Cars & Tracks

• Fixed an issue on certain Sponsor Liveries where the driver number was overlapping a sponsor logo.
• Updated the Rev light pattern on Franco Colapinto’s steering wheel.
• Raised the position of the 2026 Red Bull steering wheel to match the real car.
• The Front Suspension on the 2026 Aston Martin and Haas cars now appear correctly attached to the wheel.
• Corrected some of the trackside barriers at Australia, which had previously been on loan from Austria.

Career

• Updated the tyre allocation for several 2026 F1 Race Weekends.
• Fixed an issue where the amount of available Pitcoin was not shown when accessing the Store within Career mode.
• Fixed an issue on the Driver Career Team Select screen, so the Recognition Values shown will now always be correct.
• In Driver Career mode, completing an F2 season will now give you bonus Recognition when you start your first season in F1.
• Fixed an issue which was preventing Accolades from being shown correctly when starting a Driver Career with an Official F2 driver.

Wheels & Controllers

• Slight adjustment for Wheel users, ensuring a better match of control inputs to physics output during rapid input range changes.
• Fixed a stability issue which could affect users with both Moza and Simucube peripherals.
• Fixed an issue affecting certain hardware where Force Feedback calls could prevent players from achieving higher frame rates.
• Improved control schemes for existing Simagic hardware.
• Additional support for Simagic P500 & P700 Pedals, Neo X Hub, Zeus Formula, GT and Sport Steering Wheels..

Miscellaneous

• Various UI and Stability Improvements.

Players who haven’t picked up F1 25: 2026 Season Edition will have a chance to try it for free on Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam from September 10 through September 14. Progress from the free weekend will carry over for anyone who decides to purchase the game afterward, giving players some time with the 2025 season before starting a new career with the 2026 teams, rules and regulations.

EA is pairing the free weekend with discounts running September 9 through September 14, with new players getting 30 percent off F1 25: 2026 Season Edition and existing F1 25 owners receiving 20 percent off the 2026 Season Pack. Both offers will be available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
