Insomniac Games revealed that it has taken on board feedback for Marvel’s Wolverine in wake of some decidedly mixed reviews and social media commentary, stating the developer has been “cooking hard,” presumably in an effort to patch out some of the criticisms of the game.
“We have been 100% listening over the last few days and the team has been cooking hard today in response to some of the feedback – in case you were wondering what that smell out of our kitchen was,” James Stevenson, Insomniac Games’ Community Manager, wrote in a post on X.
Stevenson’s comment seems to be geared towards the inclusion of a blue scent trail that appears in-game to guide Wolverine to objectives, but has been widely criticised by some outlets for hand-holding players in what is essentially a linear action-adventure game. Still, we’ll just have to wait and see what Insomniac is cooking up.
Marvel’s Wolverine is a standalone entry based on the popular anti-hero, telling a self-contained story while sharing continuity with other Marvel worlds established by Insomniac. Players control James ‘Logan’ Howlett, aka Wolverine (played by Liam McIntyre), a mutant with regenerative healing powers and retractable claws that embarks a globe-trotting journey as he brushers shoulders with other iconic characters such as Mystique, Omega Red, and the Sentinels.
Marvel’s Wolverine is out today for PS5 and you can read our full review here.
