The largest update for NBA The Run is on the way, but developer Play by Play Studios isn’t waiting to fill players in on what’s coming to the game.
While full patch notes and details on the Wave One – 2000s Legends updates will be released ahead of the September 29 release date, it was confirmed that five legendary players are coming to the game as DLC.
The Biggest Names of the 2000s
Joining NBA The Run on September 29 are some of the biggest names from the 2000s era of the Association. In this first wave, Allen Iverson (76ers), Vince Carter (Raptors), Kevin Garnett (Timberwolves), Tracy McGrady (Magic), and Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks) will be playable.
The five players can be unlocked for 5000 CRED each, the game’s in-game currency you earn through playing. Should you not want to play and earn your way to unlocking the legends, you can also buy all five for $9.99.
As mentioned, Wave One is set to be the game’s largest update since its launch in June. It’s set to include new Drive Cam and Drive Cam flip camera options, practice mode, a new court in New York City, new dunk animations, new ball control moves, driving layups, new rulesets, and more.
Agai, full update details and notes will come ahead of the September 29 release date. And after the first update, work will continue on future plans for the game, which includes a single-player campaign mode.
NBA The Run is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. In our review of the game, I called it “nearly everything I’ve wanted in a modern-day street basketball game.”
EDITOR’S NOTE:Story was updated to reflect that the players can be unlocked for 5,000 CRED each, not 5,000 for all five.
