Update [Tue 27th Oct 2026, 5:15pm]:
CD Projekt Red did actually clarify what this mystery patch does on social media.
According to the developer, it addresses a very specific problem that players in Argentina were running into. Those who couldn't access their save data should now be able to do so.
As CDPR notes, updates like this have to be rolled out globally, and that's why everyone has to download it.
So, unless you're living in Argentina, there's nothing to see here. Move along, choom.
Original Story: A new Cyberpunk 2077 patch is available to download now on PS5, but there's currently no official mention of what it actually does.
The update weighs in at a not-insignificant 1.2GB, and it arrives just five days after Patch 2.5, which was of course a major content drop.
As such, I'm guessing that this new update features various bug fixes and the like, but again, CD Projekt Red hasn't said anything about it. Its official version number is 2.500.200.
Interestingly, today also marks 2.5's deployment on Nintendo Switch 2, so it could be that the build's being kept in line across multiple platforms.
Or, it's something to do with mods. Cyberpunk 2077 has cross-platform save support, so it's possible that this is some kind of compatibility update now that the Switch 2 edition has joined the party.
