Nexus Mods acquires the popular community site SteamDB

 Shared across announcements on Nexus Mods and SteamDB directly - they say that SteamDB will continue to operate as it is, but have extra resources to keep it going. In the SteamDB announcement, co-founder xPaw mentioned burnout on it and that "After COVID and with the rise of AI, the internet we once loved is gone, and with it my passion" - something I've no doubt many other web operators are feeling with AI scraping the heck out of everything to give CEOs more money.

 "What mattered most to me was finding a team that understands what it means to be responsible for something the community depends on, and that shares my belief in building useful tools for gamers.
 SteamDB will continue to be SteamDB.

The goal is not to change what makes the project special, but to give it the resources, development capacity and long-term stability that I could no longer provide alone.
 I have full confidence the team will be able to continue improving the project for gamers, developers and publishers alike."

 For now at least, everything remains as it is with SteamDB and Nexus Mods being separate things and everything currently on SteamDB will remain free.

Key details

In it they note SteamDB might finally gain a proper API for people to use, and there's no plans to put adverts on it.
