French developer/publisher Don’t Nod is going through a rough patch. In a report detailing its performance through the first half of 2026, Don’t Nod has revealed that it might need to cease operations come January 31, 2027. Don’t Nod states that there are concerns over “material uncertainty” as the company ponders how to come up with funding moving forward.
Don’t Nod is most well known for its Life is Strange games, but in recents years projects like Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (2024) and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage (2025) massively underperformed. The lack of success has left Don’t Nod light on cash and with few prospects, as the only two games in the pipeline showing any promise apparently weren’t able to reach the level of funding needed to see them to completion. Now, Don’t Nod is restructuring and might lay off as many as 90 workers.
It’s a sad situation, but we’ll keep you all updated as we learn more.
