Overwatch patch notes today: D.Mon nerfs and Mercy returns to Stadium

Overwatch just issued a hotfix for Sept. 17 that nerfs D.Mon and fixes a game-breaking Mercy bug. Read on for all of today’s Overwatch patch notes and details.

Overwatch nerfs D.Mon in today’s patch notes

In today’s Overwatch update, D.Mon received nerfs to her armor in both the five-versus-five (5v5) and six-versus-six (6v6) game modes. Her Focused Fusion perk also had its damage per bullet reduced from 45 to 36.

As for her Propulsors ability, the rate at which it drains fuel increased from 25 to 30. Her Fusion Repeater’s damage also got reduced while its cooldown increased by a second.

Overwatch fixes game-breaking Mercy bug

In terms of the Overwatch Stadium game mode, today’s hotfix patched out an issue involving Mercy. The support hero was removed earlier this week due to a bug that caused servers to lag.

“Mercy has been disabled due to gameplay issues,” Blizzard Entertainment stated on Sept. 14 via the official Blizzard Forums.

What’s happening in Overwatch today?

Aside from the D.Mon nerfs in 5v5 and 6v6 and the return of Mercy to Stadium, other Overwatch news includes the in-game LE SSERAFIM event. This event lets players get the Fawksey James Junkrat skin for free. Folks can also collect some Perfect Night name cards by completing matches.

Meanwhile, those who enjoy opening loot boxes can earn more of them thanks to Junkrat’s Loot Hunt event.

As for enjoyers of mythic skins, Overwatch is giving away a free mythic hero skin of one’s choice in honor of BlizzCon 2026. Simply complete one match and use the in-game Mythic Voucher item to redeem the skin.
